The Institute for the Study of War and Strategy serves as an intellectual hub for the academic, postgraduate and practitioner community at the University of St Andrews. There are a number of ways in which scholars, students and practitioners can become involved in the work of the Institute:

- By applying for admission to the M.Litt in Strategic Studies
- By applying for admission to one of the PhD programmes:
