Strategy Bridge

About the Project:

‘Strategy Bridge’ aimed to bring coherence to the process of defining strategy, by accumulating different definitions, models and means of analysis for strategy as used by important theorists in the fields of strategic studies, international relations, military history, and management studies. The research was centred on the following subtopics: Strategic Theory and History, Management, Insurgency/ Counterinsurgency, Sea Power, Cyber, and Regime Maintenance. By doing so, it provided an interdisciplinary understanding of the meaning of strategy, strategic practice, and strategic evaluation. The project outcomes included an extensive literature review, two podcast specials, and roundtable events, in addition to supporting members’ individual and co-authored publications. The project was supported by the St Andrews Restarting Interdisciplinary Research Fund (SARIRF) and ran from December 2020 to July 2021.
