The Institute has as one of its key missions, bringing together members of the St Andrews community from different disciplines to share ideas and collaborate on innovative research projects. As part of this process, we have developed the four multi/inter disciplinary research strands that we plan to build up in the coming years. These strands are listed below. We would very much like to hear from people within and without the University of St Andrews who would like to find out more about them and who might be interested in collaborating with us. We particularly encourage potential PhD students who want to work in one of these areas to make contact with us and we can discuss putting you in contact with a possible supervisor.
We would also like to point out that this list is in no way exhaustive. You should feel free to get in touch with any member of the institute who has a speciality in another area not listed below:
- Civil Military Relations and the Making of Strategy
- Emotions, Strategy and War
- Ethics, Law and Airpower
- War, Inequality and Resource Scarcity
